This is a cover concept for a freelance job that fell through. I had actually forgotten all about this illustration... that is until I started digging through old files on my computer this evening. This piece was a lot of fun to work on. I really feel like I started to hammer out my own style while working on this one... it has a "complete" look that I think my work lacks a lot of the time. Another aspect of this piece that I was happy about was that for the first time I was able to play with blending photography into an illustration... that's right people. that's a REAL pancake behind the title.
