Mom puts it on the fridge just because she has too: "Enamored Reward"
...
Well, it sounds like everyone who attended the San Diego Comic Con had a great time. I spent part of the day yesterday reading the grand reports of a number of people who went. Lili and Eddie sounded like they had an absolute hoot. Jerry Beck did is own thing this year. Enricco was exhausted but with a smile on his face. I got a personal update from a Drawing Board forum friend of mine, Mike Roush. He really made me want to attend next years galla... Amanda and I are planning on it.

My how long it has been: "Science Geeks are the Best Type of Geek"
...
There hasn't been a whole lot going on down here in Austin for us. The usual schedule has been get up, go to work, come home, work on diffrent things, go to bed, rinse and repeat. I've been seeing a lot of good portfolio sites online. They remind me that I need to 1) remake my own pitiful website, and 2) work harder to improve as an artist. I've been drawing a lot these past few week and I attribute the Pencil Haus for that. Having the company of two other fine artist has kept me motivated to develop this craft that I love more and more. I hit a wall this weekend, and didn't even pick up a pencil... oh well. I tend to operate in cycles anyways. The frenzy of creativity is followed by a recouping period... I'm recouping now. Hopefully I'll crawl out of this slump soon.
I've been having fun at work though. Lately I've done several character designs... the Science Geeks above are the most recent. Creating character designs and illustrations in Flash has quickly become one of my favorite pasttimes... tinkering in Painter is right on it's heels though.

Whew! This week has gone by quickly... even though it isn't over yet. I don't have a whole lot to talk about today. Life hasn't been too action packed since I've tried to quit knocking off liquor stores.

Enrico Casarosa has added a few more fan art images to his Haiku 5-7-5 site. Yours truly is one of them.

Mike Roush is a horribly talented artist that I've met on the Drawing Board forum. He has some amazing work on his site as well as a great looking sketchbook that he'll be selling at the Comic Con in San Diego.

Speaking of Comic Con, it's coming up soon. Real soon. Next week soon. The more and more I read about the more and more I realize that I ought to go. I could have caught the tail end of it last year when I was in town for Siggraph. I didn't have a ticket though. Silly tickets. Maybe I'll go next year... that would be fun... real fun...

We were out of town this weekend. Back to the near non existent hustle and bustle of East Texas. It was a lot of fun, but we were tired when we got back... the exhaustion carried over into today... and into this evening... and probably into the nite...

After posting an interpretive drawing of Enrico Casarosa's Haiku 5-7-5 character on the Drawing Board, I decided to post it over at the Pencil Haus. I never know what to expect as far as my blogs go. I know a few select people (Hi to you all!) that read them, but other than that, they only exist for my own amusement and glee. Imagine my surprise when I found a comment posted by none other than Enrico himself on the Pencil Haus blog. It's a small, small world and it keeps getting smaller. :)

What did our Fore Fathers do the days after the 4th?: "You're Ugly"
...
Well, after a bit of tossing around ideas, Amanda and I decided to go out and walk around the neighborhood to celebrate the Fourth. Wow! I'm glad we did. It was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. Everywhere you turned, in a 360 degree radius, you saw nothing but the exploding rainbow of color of spent fireworks. It stayed like this for hours. The night was filled with the constant Pops and Whizzes of the celebration. It was tons of fun... makes me wish it weren't over.

Hello Hello Hello!
Happy 4th you all!
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. I know I am. Amanda and I haven't done much today. Mostly just lounging. We made a run to Barnes & Noble earlier. That was fun but short lived. Now we're back home and curious about what to do tonight... perhaps fireworks will be involved. Yay Sparklers!

There's new stuff posted @ the Pencil Haus Blog. Most of it is mine, depending on when and if you last visited. This is attributed to the fact that I do not have a life and sit in the corner of my room with a crayon, drawing on little scraps of paper.
