My Little CrockPot of News and Thoughts

Here's an illustration that I did this weekend. It wasn't for Illustration Friday but seemed to work for this week's topic... or at least it seemed that way to me...

It's Illustration Friday time again and this week the topic is "Lost". I have to admit, this one had me stumped... I thought and thought and tried to approach the topic and a number of different angles. In the end, I decided to use a photograph of a forest that I recently found at an antique store. Here's one from this evening. For some reason whenever I look at this one, I can't help but think of John Waters. As has been the case lately, click on the image for a larger view. ... So my little work space here at home is a wreck. There are pens and brushes thrown all over the place...pencils hang out in places where pencils really shouldn't be hanging out... by far my biggest problem is the stacks upon stacks of papers that I have accumulated over the past several months. Some are doodled on, some have notes jotted on them, some hold the line work for illustrations that I've done recently. My dilemma is that I'm not sure what I should do with some of these papers... should I save them? Should I trash them? I need to take back the space and getting these stacks of paper in order is going to be key. Has anyone out there come up with their own solution to this problem that they would like to share? I'm all ears...

"Float" is the topic for this week's Illustration Friday round. Since Halloween is just around the corner, and since I've already eaten my body weight in candy corn, I decided to illustrate that all important right of passage: Trick or Treating. Click on the image for a larger view.

Like the title of this post declares, this is just a quick sketch I did in Flash this morning. Things have been really busy for me these past several weeks and this blog has suffered because of it. This weekend I had grand plans of getting a couple of illustrations done, which I would have posted here, but I never really got around to doing them. It was a slow weekend and I enjoyed every minute of not doing a thing. I was able to update the blog with a new banner... at the top of this page... if you hadn't already noticed... Hopefully, things will slow down, inspiration will hit, and I can get back into the groove of drawing and posting. Click on the image for a larger view.
