Here's a couple of pages from the ol' sketchbook. The idea for these doodles, which are of a man from the future, came from a conversation I had recently with Ward. What the circus get up that the man is wearing has to with anything is beyond me.

"Depth" is the Illustration Friday topic for this week. It's been a while since I participated so I spent some time these past several evenings thinking about the word. Though I had several ideas and toyed with a number of concepts, it was my lovely wife who finally gave me the inspiration for this one. Kudos to her... She's a keeper.

John Datri, a New Orleans resident who was fortunate enough to get out of the way of the hurricane, sent me this email last night: ...We are in serious need for those basic necessities to comfort and nourish those in need. I am doing okay with what I grabbed before Katrina but there are SCORES of others who fared far less than I so please donate. I am currently in Baton Rouge and won't be able to go home (New Orleans) for a good long time. I have no idea about my house because my area has no access due to high waters so I cannot go back to assess nor salvage my belongings. Right now, my main focus is day-to-day living... ...just a couple of pages from the sketchbook that I did last weekend. This has been a busy week... at least the first part was as I finished two freelance jobs that were both due on the first. We don't have any plans for this weekend yet and that excites me. Hopefully I'll have some time to play in the sketchbook. I'm looking forward to that. Also, I have scrapped the old commenting system and am now using Blogger's own way of commenting. I like it better and I hope you do too.
